Since its release, Pokémon Sword and Shield have released many Mystery Gift codes that offer players free rewards. These rewards vary from in-game items to in-game currency, and sometimes can even hand out free rare or Shiny Pokémon.

All Working Pokémon Sword & Shield Codes

Trainers who aim to catch every Pokémon available to become the best Trainer can get their hands on Mystery Gifts. These unique rewards grant you an array of rare items and Pokémon which can aid your in-game progress.

The fastest way to acquire them is by redeeming Mystery Gift codes, which developer Game Freak will make available through an event, Ranked Battles, and more. As of writing, no working Mystery Codes are available for Pokémon Sword and Shield; however, stay tuned for further updates.

How To Redeem Mystery Gift Codes In Pokémon Sword & Shield

Before you can redeem the Mystery Gift codes in-game, you'll need to have this feature unlocked after encountering a Pokémon within the Galarian Slumbering Woods and receiving a Pokédex. Once completed, you can progress to redeeming the codes by following these easy steps:

  • Launch Pokémon Sword & Shield and head to the main menu.
  • Click on the "Mystery Gift" tab.
  • Click "Get with code/password."
  • Enter the code and follow the steps on the screen.

    • You can acquire Mystery Gift codes for Pokémon Sword & Shield in multiple ways without needing a redeem code. Within the Mystery Gifts feature, click "get via internet" to receive an active Mystery Gift to claim.

    Another way is through the "via local communication" option, codes you can obtain from in-person events (usually at local game stores) or pre-order and special game edition purchases. Often, rare or Shiny Pokémon will be distributed at certain retailers but will require players to travel to these locations to receive the Mystery Gift code.
